Do I need aftermarket Upper Control Arms (UCA) when lifting my vehicle?Updated 2 months ago
A very common question.
UCAs are strongly recommended when lifting more than 2 inches for multiple reasons, here are a few:
- Alignment Correction: Lifting a vehicle can alter its suspension geometry, increasing camber or caster angles and toe-in or toe-out settings. This helps ensure your vehicle maintains proper wheel alignment, promoting even tire wear, optimal handling, and steering response.
- Strength and Durability: Factory upper control arms may struggle with the added stress of lifted suspensions.
- Suspension Articulation: Upgraded upper control arms boast better bushings or ball joint designs, enabling improved suspension articulation. This enhances traction and stability on uneven terrain, elevating your vehicle's off-road capabilities and maneuverability.
Although 2 inches might not be necessary, but strongly recommended; we would say 2.5 and higher it is almost required.
