What is a Front Shock Assembly?Updated 3 months ago

A Front Shock Assembly is a ready-to-install front suspension unit where the main components are preassembled for you. Instead of getting separate parts and building the strut yourself, you receive a complete setup that typically includes:

  • Front shock

  • Coil spring

  • New top hat (upper mount)

It’s meant to make installing a lift kit (or replacing front suspension parts) much easier—especially if you don’t want to deal with spring compressors or the trial-and-error of assembling everything correctly.

Why a preassembled front shock is worth it

Saves a lot of time (and frustration)

Assembling front shocks can be one of the most time-consuming parts of a suspension install. A preassembled unit skips the hard part and gets you straight to installation.

Helps ensure everything is assembled correctly

Correct alignment and proper seating of the spring/top hat matters. A professionally assembled unit reduces the chance of mistakes that can lead to noise, poor ride, or unsafe handling.

Peace of mind

A preassembled setup is double-checked so you’re not guessing whether the spring is seated right or whether the top hat orientation is correct.

FAQ-style notes

What happens if a front shock assembly is done wrong?

Improper assembly can cause poor handling and instability, more bouncing/vibration, uneven tire wear, and extra stress on other suspension parts.

Is it covered by a warranty?

Yes—there’s warranty coverage for the assembly. If there’s an issue, you’re asked to contact them and provide photos before installation.

Can you get this with any lift kit?

It’s available with select lift kit options, depending on what’s offered.
